Hi.
Upon starting a sync or full download the sync hangs at 52/95 records, sometimes at 57, completely hangs and reboots my phone and the MyPhoneExplorer process becomes unresponsive. I have since resolved the issue by change the OBEX packet size to 1024 instead of 512, switching to outlook sync (instead of local), checking 'stable connection', and disabling Multi-Sync.
Do you know what could be causing this? It hasn't happened since and unfortunately i did not save of log when it was.

that would be vista 64-bit, and if required i will try to reproduce this problem and send a log. but maybe there's an easier way.-

aha, I think i have figured out what this *could* be..
I had a bunch of contacts in my phone with blank names (from sync'ing with outlook before).
I have also noticed that MPE likes to give each contact a name even if they dont have one in outlook, when it transfers them to your phone.
about 8-10 of these blank named records were usually the last ones that MPE pulled before it 'hung' at 50%. coincidence?

I have since discovered more peculiar behaviour:
When i try to delete call records, the disappear in MPE, but not in the phone, when i resync the records, they reappear in MPE again, but the delete 'X' on the toolbar is grayed out and only reactivates if i leave the calls window and return again. some other peculiar call records behaviour was also observed.
Phone Memory and Contacts (SIM) in the 'Other' tools sections don't display. (maybe unsupported on phone, just maybe worth a mention)
The outlook calendar sync supposed looks 30 days back and 90 days forward, but it 'sees' recurring outlook appointments as occuring at the first occurence after their 'starting date' ;p hehe. so I get appointments way back in the past.

So just wrapping up here, that's 1 bug in Contacts, 1 in Calls, and 1 in Organizer.
Messages (SMS) seems to be working fine for now.

Also, direct editing of Call Records as for Contacts messages would be nice, or a 'copy phone number to clipboard' feature to cut+paste phone numbers into outlook to update contact info.

SUMMARY FOLLOWS (Details can be found in previous posts!):
- Office 2007 SP1 is NOT broken. It probably had something to do with this: http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.ph ... b87eabc641 but I'm not certain. The error in the log was: Error in GetAllContacts (cOutlook) : -2147220991. I restored a backup of my .pst file and that seems to have fixed it. Maybe using the API to block access to the outlook GUI while sync'ing??
- Blank 'Names' in Phone Records when sync'ing to MPE might be broken (have not re-tested, but I think this is what was causing the crash). This happens after ~10 of these blank records are written to MPE. OBEX packet size did NOT have anything to do with this, and upon noticing an error in the log, I set this back to the default of '512'.
- Call History bug persists. Strange behaviour when attempting to delete records from phone. None are actually deleted, but they disappear from the MPE UI. Toolbar button to delete records becomes disabled until call history is closed and reopeneda again.
- Outlook Recurring Appointments 'seen' as first occurrence after 'start date'. ie: the recurring app. for "3/6/2008" was added on 1/1/2004, will be seen as 3/6/2004. This happens even if all previous appointments in Outlook have been 'dismissed' or deleted form the calendar. Workaround is to change the 'start date' of the recurrence series.
System: MPE 1.6.6, Vista-64 Ultimate, Outlook 2007 SP1, Ericsson Z600, Bluetooth, COM3 (Standard Modem over Bluetooth Link).
I have not disabled 'stable connection' or enabled 'Multi-Sync' as I still don't know what they do exactly ;p.. I figured, less features, better to troubleshoot. Sorry bout dblpost, my IE messed up.

one last thing before i go
- The Sync options are kind of strange in my situation. Since my phone can't hold auxialliary data like notes, etc. when I do a 'Sync Both', the first sync (with an empty phone) is outlook to phone.. the second sync is phone to outlook.. and there the outlook records get overwritten by the phone records which don't have this ancillary info. Ofcourse I had made a backup before i began this procedure, but I find myself having to "Force Outlook -> Phone" which takes a lot longer.

- Stable Connection: well, i just found this http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.ph ... connection and tried to disable 'stable connection' which didn't work at first, resulting in some messages about COM3 and semaphore timeouts, but persistance pays off. I finally connected (F1) to the phone in 'stable connection' mode, turned it off, disconnected from the phone, connected again and it worked ;o
- Multi-Sync: This feature works, in conjunction with the Outlook Add-In, it is very effective.

oh and ONLY 3 feature requests 
- Direct Editing of Call Records for cut+paste or 'copy phone number to clipboard' option in context menu.
- Ability to switch phone profiles while 'connected' to MPE, and switch back to normal when disconnected (would work nice in conjunction with ring/msg sounds so you can mute your phone and turn off lighting/etc to conserve power, using only 25mw for BT connection wewt)
- Possibility of setting a user-specific ringtone for each contact in supporting phones? z600 does
(might require some cross-talk with audio files, to prevent adding ringtones that dont exist, or as a drop-down query to select a ringtone). Of course, this is all spacey stuff.

To clearify your problem: Do "Download entire" from the toolbar (directly besides the sync-button). Does this work ? If not i think its a known bug in your phone. The phone hangs while transfering all data from phone to your PC. To fix it you can backup/restore your contacts to/from the MemoryStick. If you don't have a stick we will have a problem. Anyway you have to reset in this case your phonebook.
- The call-list in the phone is readonly for external software. So you can delete only archived calls in MyPhoneExplorer

- set own ringtones in MyphoneExplorer: Not planned cause its not possible to link them with the original contacts in the phone. If i add this thing everybody will think he edits the ringtone from the phone.
