REQ: New Message View Mode - Chat history

Hi FJ,

this one is for moment when you want to sum up conversations with someone- Messenger-style
So sent and received sms are grouped together by persons you were chaving conversation.

So there is a list of persons that can be expanded to see the conversation flow.

Awesome for getting your head straight when you are having too much similar SMS conversations, example given:

SMS Chat is planned for the next major release

In the mean time, ferrante, you can archive your SMS and sort by contact name. You may have to edit the message timestamp manually...

It's not an ideal solution, but it's a workaround.

FJ, rather than SMS chat, would it be possible to add a feature so that you can display all messages, sorted by contact, then time? This would be a very handy feature and would be helpful for people wanting something like the SMS chat facility. I can't imagine it would be too hard to implement, as all the data are already in MPE - it would just be another view.

As i said - time-sorted view that it looks like chat will make problems cause of missing timestamps. But you can already sort the messages by recipient with xxx on the header. Besides this you can filter the messages since v1.6.6 by recipient.

But you can't see messages from the Inbox and Sent items at the same time. That's what I was getting at. This would allow the user to track conversations without having to flick between mail boxes.

Maybe just an "All messages" view? This would work in the same way as the Calls section - Dialled, Answered, Missed and All. The existing colour coding works well, so that would be fine.

It would just be a convenient view, but I guess we can wait for MPE 2.0
