MMS
Hi, it would be great if MPE could send/receive/save MMS.
Thanks for a great app.

Prefix agenda's
I think for syncing Google Calendar, it would be usefull if I can prefix my agenda's. This way I know if an item is added in my personal agenda, or in an agenda that I share with somebody.

Contacts Sync with Google
I know this is a long shot and it's probably not possible with the way things are currently done at Google, but I'd really like to be able to synchronise my contacts with my Google account. It would be great if this worked in much the same way as synchronising my calendar with Google works.

PCSuite features needed.
FJ,
SonyEricsson has upgraded their PCSuite 3 that does have SMS date saving features and quite a number of features that would really complement MyPhoneExplorer... perhaps you can research on the binaries and see whether it can be done?

Lost messages
On a number of occasions you've said that MPE will not delete sms messages without your permission. This is quite true.
After installing the software, checking out its functions etc, I started figuring how to download everything from the old cellphone to my laptop. Everything will then be transferred to the new cellphone. After downloading everything I started deleting (directly on the phone) the old pics, video's, message etc.
Occasionally I clicked on Memory Status to check my progress in cleaning the old phone. It was during one of these moments that a window came up asking me all sorts of questions about archiving or deleting messages because I have deleted messages on the phone ... or something to that effect.
I wasn't ready to make a backup of the profile yet, and ... I didn't quite knew what to choose, so I just closed the window. The default is not archiving hence all the messages are now lost. I couldn't figure why it had happened but I know now. Otherwise: a gem of a product FJ
PS Interesting enough, it's only the messages which are lost even though I also deleted the contacts (on the phone).

Did you ever read the tooltip of the first button in the toolbar for sms-messages. You can read there "Refresh view" - it means that this view will always show the current status on the phone and that there will be nothing synced. OK, i made the message for auto-backup. There is a full text in this message why the SMS should be copied into the archive. You clicked this message away. Without any decition - then you have to calculate that MyPhoneExplorer does the default action and this is: Resfreshing the list - not more and not less
Deleted contacts on the phone will disappear in MyPhoneExplorer after you sync the phonebook

Compressing message text
Thanks for great app. It works really great!
I have one suggestions: When I was writing some SMS throught MyPhoneExplorer recently, I realized that it would be nice to have there "compressing text" feature.
My idea was something like "Hi, how is it going man?" convert into "Hi,HowIsItGoingMan?".
I am sure this functionality is not very difficult to implement. So I am looking forward to that

FJ, is this Ctrl-K option configurable anywhere? Many applications have 'text replacement rules' where you can set it to replace text in a predefined manner. It's usually done the other way around (e.g. 'k' would become 'okay' etc.)
It would be nice if we could put some rules in somewhere so that the Ctrl-K option would compress words to a custom specification. For example, I would set it to compress okay to k, mate to m8, good to gd, etc...
It's a great feature and it could be made brilliant.
On a side note, you keep coming up with these gems about hidden features which are usually really useful - how's about an instruction manual with all this listed? I know; I hate writing documentation, too. Maybe you could get a friend to write it for you!

Thanks, FJ. I should have known, really!
This makes writing a manual easier, I guess. Might give it a go at some point, if you like?
My question was whether the text replacement feature is customisable and if not, can it be made so?
Thanks,
Ed.

Hmm - to be honest: I don't think that this feature will be used frequently or that its really necessary.
I know that there should be a documentation. But you said its already - its so much work and its a very boring work. There is not much time i can spend to MyphoneExplorer and the time i have i wnat to use with developing. Thats more important.

Confirmation dialog box for send SMS
Dear MPE Developer,
Could you please evaluate a suggestion to implement a confirmation
dialog box when sending an SMS to selected contact(s).
Something like:
Are you sure you want to send this message to <name>?
OK-----CHANGE-----CANCEL
I use MPE all the time, and it has happened to me more then once that I
have sended sensitive information to the wrong contact, by accidentally
selecting another contact from the inbox list behind the message editor
window while composing a new message.
I know its the user responsibility to select the correct contact, but when
using this software frequently the user may do mistakes over time.
You could also add a checkbox in the Preferences panel to
enable/disable the confirmation dialog box.
Thank you.

Perhaps you can check it always before you send your message? This function is not needed, I guess.
With functions like this MPE will become bloadware.
When you select an number from your phonebook the name is also displayed. When you send mail with your mail program does it also ask before sending?
