Syncing "all day" event with Thunderbird Lightning

Beitrag von Magnus »

There appears to be a problem when syncing "all day" events between the phone and Thunderbird Lightning.

If you have an event with "all day" selected, then the sync window displays e.g.:

Phone "2008-02-09 - 2008-02-08"
Thunderbird "2008-02-09, 00:00 - 00:00"

These two items appear on every sync, but they alternate which direction they sync. In Other words MPE keeps syncing them, first in one direction and then in the other.

Please check your Timezone in Lightning. It should be equal to the timezone on the PC. Thunderbird doesn't change this after installing automatically.

From what I can see the timezones are the same:

Lightning: Europe/Stockholm
PC: (GMT+01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin, Bern, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna

Where did you enter the event, in Thunderbird, in MPE or in your mobile phone?

Please tell me which software versions you are using. (Thunderbird, Lightning, MPE, MPE Mozilla AddOn).

I think the problem was actually with GCalDaemon. I sync Lightning with Google Calendar using GCalDaemon, and then I sync the phone with Lightning using MPE. I updated the event's end date in Google Calendar, then forced the sync from Google to Lightning to the phone, and now the problem has gone away.

Thanks anyway for your time and help!

Why don't you use the Google Provider for Lightning?

I tried that before, but I had problems due to the size of my calendar. The sync was very slow and the Thunderbird process grew to the point where my whole system became sluggish.
