I used the program with K800i and it is brilliant; congrats to the authors.. I have an older Sony W800i from which I need to pull off some messages and data records.
When I try to connect the PC with the W800i it fails to connect...
What is it that I am doing wrong?? It works fine on the K800i.
Is it possible to have 2 phones on the connect status list at any one time??
The phone sees the PC and vice versa - or at least I think they see eacxh other.
PLEASE HELP AS GOT IMPORTANT TEXT MESSAGES THAT I NEED TO RETRIEVE.
My MSn add is fastamir@hotmail.com. If I am on line and you can help please contact me.
- do you connect via USB cable?
- did you also install the drivers for your W800 (drivers for K800 and W800 may be different!) if connected via USB?
- if drivers are installed, did you change the COM-port or did you click "search device"?
As mentioned the software picks up the K800i but when I disconnect the Bluetooth on the K800i and just leave the W800i the software fails to pick up the phone.
Do I have to install the drivers for the W800i if I am using Bluetooth; thought Bluetooth was supposed to be picked up automatically??
The computer does pick up the phone when I search devices using Bluetooth. But when I search devices using the software it fails to pick up the phone.
No, with BT you don't have to install the drivers,
but you have to (new-)connect the new device manually.
Dependig on your BT stack there will be different ways to search,
find and connect the phone.
Maybe this will help.
You don't need additional drivers. But you have to pair your W800i with your BT-Software. Then start the service "Serial connection". You will see then a COM-Port which can be used in MyPhoneExplorer.
If you have further problems: Tell us which Bluetoothsoftware you use and which version it has.
I dont know what I did but the following may have caused it to work.

It has worked a and I have managed to do what I wanted.
