SMS ISSUES!!

Beitrag von joebloggs »

Saving SMS files from phone to computer ==>> ??

There is an opton called "Archive (computer)" -- does this mean they are saved as .txt files somewhere?

I'm not sure, it seems they are saved together in a .dat file? I have to go to Application data and open this .dat file. With what program? In what format are the SMS messages saved, i.e. is it one huge text file??

This issue has been raised but I think unsatisfactorily answered.

Would be nice be able to drag and drop SMS messages to an empty folder, saved as txt messages (to be opened by notepad).

ALSO, some of my SMS messages on my phone in the "saved messages" folder ( I have a SONy K750i), it seems like those with a picture attachment, are not viewable from my phone in the My Phone Explorer application. And they are not ebing archived either, it would seem.

Please help! My phone memory has been full and it's a pain in the xxx.

Thanks, nice program but this point I need some help on.

The SMSArchive.dat can be opened with notepad. You'll find there the messages encoded in PDU-Format. But its much more simple to export the messages as file. Please do not choose *.txt as format. You cannot import them back.

MMS-Support is technically not possible.

And where is now the issue ?

Just select the messages in MyPhoneExplorer->rightclick->Import/Export->Export selected entries and choose "HTML" in the file-dialog as format.
If you have already exported messages as *.sms then you can import them back in the SMS Archive.
