SOLVED: File list won't load when attempting backup

Beitrag von Robin370 »

MPE version 2.2 on PC, Client version 4.3 on Samsung S9+ Android tablet, Android version 13, USB cable connection between PC and tablet, USB debugging enabled. On the tablet screen I got the

Allow USB debugging?
The computer's RSA key fingerprint is:
1B:28:11:B0:AC:F4:E6:1E:01:0D:
Always allow from this computer
CANCEL
OK
and clicked on OK.

When I try to create a backup I click on "select files", get the message on the tablet "Grant 'Access all files', click OK, and see at the bottom of the PC MPE screen "Current status: loading the file list". After a couple of minutes I get the error code 'OBEX Error code : C1 Unauthorized - OK ?'. I click on OK, get the message on the tablet "Grant 'Access all files', click OK, and see at the bottom of the screen "Current status: loading the file list", After a couple of minutes I get the error code 'OBEX Error code : C1 Unauthorized - OK ?' i.e. it goes round in circles.

MPE backup from my Samsung S22+ phone to the same PC, same USB connection, works fine.

What now ?

Please controll the authorizations in the MPE appinfo of the cell phone. It should be activated!

Otherwise Install:
1. On the cell phoney => MyPhoneExplorer-Client beta
2. PC => MPE beta version

Thank you for this instant reply.

Not sure whether this is important but the device in question is not a cell phone but a Samsung Galaxy Android tablet.

I had already checked the authorizations in the MPE app info on the tablet. They appear as follows:

App permissions
MyPhoneExplorer Client
Allowed

Calendar
Call logs
Camera
Contacts
Nearby devices
Accessed in past 24 hours
Notifications
Phone
Accessed in past 24 hours
SMS
Accessed in past 24 hours

Not allowed
No permissions denied

Unused app settings
Pause app activity if unused
Remove permissions, delete temporary files and stop
notifications

I clicked on the MyPhoneExplorer-Client beta link and downloaded an apk file but don't know what to do with it.

I downloaded and ran MyPhoneExplorer_DebugUpdate on the PC. It updated successfully.

So all I need to know now is what to do with that apk file on the tablet.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There are many installation guides in the net, the following is only one of them which google just found for me:
https://www.lifewire.com/install-apk-on-android-4177185
Also, MPE has an app installation function in the Applications view which you can try to use.

Thanks for this. Went through the apk installation on the Samsung S9+ tablet, it offered me an Update option, I accepted that, the procedure seemed to run to a successful end. However, when I re-tried loading the file list it showed "File list loading" on the PC for roughly 50 seconds and then threw up the same error message as before.

SOLVED File list won't load when attempting backup

Beitrag von Robin370 »

I have stumbled on the solution.

Updating to the beta version had resulted in an Update Successful message but when I restarted MPE on the PC and Android tablet the file list still refused to load. After a couple of hours wondering where the problem could be I restarted the Samsung S9+ Android tablet and the creation of the files list then proceeded normally and I was able to backup the tablet's files and apps to MPE on my PC.

The need for a restart of the Android device after installing (or updating to) the beta version of MPE needs to be added to the Update/Installation dialog.
