I have been using MPE for many years and have always been able to establish the connection between the desktop version and the Android app with various earlier Android devices.
With the S20+ I am currently unable to do this, although I am proceeding in exactly the same way as before.
For a very brief moment, the Android app shows that a connection attempt has been made and the S20+ also vibrates briefly, followed by the message that the connection could not be established.
I assume that I have to set something differently on the S20+, but I don't know what, and I can't find anything here in the forum.
