[SOLVED] Vibrates once, but no dialog to confirm

Hello

I'm having an issue with an old Xiaomi 5 phone running Android 9 (and MiUI 11) : When selecting "Screen mirroring" in Windows, the Windows app says "Probably you see a dialog on your phone to allow screen mirroring. You have to confirm this dialog.", the phone vibrates once but… no dialog or notification is displayed.

Since I see no dialog, I can't perform that step.

Then, I can see the screen, but apps won't accept input from the keyboard or mouse clicks.

Is it some setting I should change, or does MPE simply not work with old Android and/or custom UIs?

I'm using MPE 2.2 (Windows) and 4.3 (Android).

Edit: Found it. The native Xiaomi stock ROM requires creating and logging on to a MiUI account, before being allowed to enable "USB debugging (Security settings)" (itself only available after enabling Developer options, which then allows Additional settings → Developer options → USB debugging) (source)

It still vibrates once, nothing is displayed… and I have to wait ~15 seconds before seeing the screen in the Windows application before I can finally drive an application remotely. FWIW, that wait didn't happen on the previous (same hardware) phone running a custom ROM.
