Error msg after installing myphone explorer 1.6.3

Hi there,

I did the update from version 1.6.2 to 1.6.3 and it seemed installed correctly, then when launched it gives me the error msg about an .ocx not registered. I tried to uninstall the software,I got another error msg. Re installing the software also gave me an error. How can I uninstall an reinstall this new version of myphone explorer?Thanks.

Once more: If you get an error about a missing ocx then your PC doesnt allow to register the needed ocx. It depends on your account-settings. Which ocx is missing ?

Here the error msg when trying to uninstall or even reinstalling:

The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.....

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED).

First you told me the problem is when you start MyPhoneExplorer - now you tell me that you get a errormessage in the setup. Whats the point ?

Let me explain how I proceeded.

1.Installed new version,seemed installed without problem.
2.Try starting the software,getting errors.
3.Try reinstalling,same error.
4.try unistalling,same NRC...error.

If you start the setup then the old version will be uninstalled automatically. Make a link to the setup. Go to the propertys of the link and add a space and the commandlineoptions behind the path and save it.

I'm wondering why you get this message. Did you download the setup from my page ? What is the exact filesize of your setup ?

Can you please tell me how to make input the /NCRC command line in the shortcut to uninstall the old version in order to install the latest version?I tried inputing line as per your instruction last time, but when I press OK,it gives an error. Thanks.

F.e. the path to the file is

Code: Alles auswählen

G:\MyPhoneExplorer\MyPhoneExplorer_Setup_1.6.4.exe

change it to

Code: Alles auswählen

G:\MyPhoneExplorer\MyPhoneExplorer_Setup_1.6.4.exe /NCRC

Then save the link and doubleclick it

I tried to uninstall the software following your instructions,but I get the same error when it tries to uninstall 1st before installing the new software.Can you please tell me what to do?I have just changed my cellphone to a Sony Ericsson K810i.Thanks.

And you get this error also if you start the installer ?
Did you also tried rightclick->run as administrator ?

Yes,even after starting the installer. I solved the problem by deleting ALL entries concerning MyPhoneExplorer in the Registry manually!!! Used your latest version of 1.6.4 and it's working fine now ...Hope this might help other users facing the same problem.Thanks for the help...
