Synchronization of phone contacts with MyPhoneExplorer contancts works.
Synchronization of MyPhoneExplorer contacts with Thunderbird works.
Synchronization of Fossify Calendar with MyPhoneExplorer works (had to switch it to CalDAV on my phone).
Synchronization of Notes works.
Notes widget looks nice, there's room for improvement though.
I didn't enable Appear On Top. This option (on a different app) had given me some weird troubles with Browser notifications in the past. I didn't enable Always Run in the Background, either. MyPhoneExplorer works fine with these two disabled.

It is correct that these two authorizations are only necessary for certain functions.
For example, the cell phone control function no longer works
