Is it possible to delete fields when merging duplicates?

After searching for duplicates, MPE sometimes shows some duplicates saying "There were conflicts when merging the contacts. Please select the fields you want to use with click or reorder the fields with Drag&Drop".
Sometimes, however, there are situations where those contacts look as follows. For the sake of simplicity, I will replace the respective phone numbers with 1, 2, and 3.

#1:
Mobile: 1
Mobile(2): 2
Work:3

#2:
Mobile: 1
Mobile(2): 3

Now, MPE suggests:

after:
Mobile: 1
Mobile(2): 3
Work: 3
Mobile(3): 2

Even though I had, for whatever unknown reason, 3 recorded as a mobile number and a work number in different backups, I would definitely like to avoid duplication and to be able to tell MPE something like

after:
Mobile: 1
Mobile(2): 2
Work: 3

(without that "Mobile(3)" number).
However, I can only drag and drop numbers, and I cannot drag and drop an empty field from either #1 or #2 to the "after" column.
Am I missing something, or is it really impossible?

Its possible, just rightclick into the field and choose "Delete" in the popup menu

Thank you very much, I tried right-xxx on fields in the entries being merged, but somehow did not try in on fields in the resulting entry .
