allow separate sync rules for tasks and events

Beitrag von alin_derom »

When synchronizing outlook items, you can choose to sync events and/or tasks.
You can also deterimine the sync direction : outlook->phone, phone->outlook, or both directions

I would like to suggest the possibility of individual sync options for tasks and events.
eg : events only outlook-> phone and tasks both ways

Why is this relevant?
Changing the sync structure would be very costly of time and this is the first time I've heard this suggestion.

Reason for this : I have had in the past (2018) smartphones (HUAWEI) that did not remember all information that was in my contacts when syncing with MPE. Mostly in the comment sections where i put a lot of data in outlook2016. Only part of the information would be rembered in the smartphone (i have been at that time able to confirm this though the log file). So if change something in that particular contact in my smartphone, and i sync my contact with oultook2016, then part of the information of the contact would be removed since in outlook the contact would be synced which the information of the cellphone (which was incomplete).
When having this issue I found out is that large commments were involved. I don't remember having problems that information from smartphone to outlook2016 has disapeared afetr a sync. However sometimes i had contact with a comment of 3000 characters that would be cut of ( at about 2000) when syncing to smartphone, but other contacts with long comments weren't.
Thats why since then i always sync my contacts in 1 direction

Here are the original posts from 2018 (when i first started using MPE)

PS : I have/had no idea if such an adaptation would be easy or time intensive.

To be honest, I don't understand the context of your answer:oops:

Your explanation refers to problems with the contacts and this is probably about 'allow separate sync rules for tasks and events'
