Can't get Version 2 running on Galaxy S21 FE

After years of use on my Galaxy S7 I'm trying to use MPE on my S21 FE. I was prompted to install newest version, which I did, including making a PayPal donation.

Although I just want to upload a few photos, MPE insists on syncing all files which I assume means all files on the phone... big job that takes a long time. But then it stops with Obex protocol error ... could not be initialized. It requires me to be at the keyboard since otherwise it will just keep waiting. I've no idea what that means much less fix it.

Also says "file list could not be loaded! Error C1: Unauthorized"

Access to the file is not possible, it is protected!
- Please check whether permissions are deactivated in the app info of the MyPhoneExplorer client on the mobile phone
- Uninstalling the client and then reinstalling it should fix the problem

In case this is relevant:
Since Android 13, access to the Android folder is only possible via a USB connection!
