Best android calendar to use?

Beitrag von Bundu »

I presently use the Google Calendar on my phone (Blackview BV9800).
I sync my calendar only with Outlook on my laptop (PC Sync). So I don't sync anything to google.

Recently, when I create an event on my phone, the event defaults to my gmail account. I have to physically select PC Sync and unselect the gmail account. This annoying!

I use my calendar to keep record of just about everything over many years.
On my phone, I can only search back 5 years. The whole calendar is synced to my phone. This is also annoying.

I'm thinking of using another calendar.
What would you guys recommend, considering my two above mentioned irritations?

Your time is appreciated!

I use Business Calendar 2 Planner ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... nix.bizcal ). It does what most calendars do and reads/adds to the calendar storage on the phone. Use the MPE setting - Manage local Calendars - to create your own. Business calendar then lets you assign a new event to any of the available calendars.

The search doesn't seem to be as broad as you would like. Though it does have 'search in view' so that if you set your display to 'year' it will search that year. A request to the developers may provide a way to do exactly what you want .

I agree with dvhtn 100%.

I use this calendar for years now and manage 5 local calendars with it. It never failed me, is highly customizable and exact what I want from a calendar app.

Business Calendar 2, task sync with Phone Explorer

Beitrag von agorasa »

Having found this conversation of people using MPE AND the Business Calendar 2, I'd like to ask a question about the use of the task-list.
My current state of information is: there is a basic task-list in MPE and a more complex one in BC2, and, there is no sync-option between the two.
As I would like to be able to see my tasks in the calender - which is possible in the BC2-App (but doesn't sync with the MPE) - I currently note every task as an apointment inside the calender, which ends up quite full and is affecting it's original calenderfuction..
How do you deal with tasks?

Thanks for taking the time!

@agorasa

I understand your wish, it's not new either!
However, unfortunately it is not possible because Google does not provide standard storage for the tasks.
This means that every provider of a calendar app implements this differently.
