Automatic syncing is too aggressive
Automatic syncing is too aggressive
Hello, I do not like that app does not allow user to disable syncing before phone is connected using its own profile. App wants to connect, then it syncs everything and only then it allows to disable for example SMS syncing. Which I did not want to sync from the beginning. SMS are already in PC and it is not possible to delete them without deleting them from mobile. It can be circumvented by not allowing phone SMS permission for the client but I believe that use case, when user only wants to use MPE for screen mirroring, should be better supported. Could you please for example add global setting to not sync anything and allow it only after profile is created (after mobile phone is connected)? And not while phone is being connected and profile created.
I don't know what you mean exactly
Basically, MPE does not automatically synchronize unintentionally?
Please check the settings below MPE => F2 =>
1. Startup=>
- Launch MyphoneExplorer on Windoes startup
- Connect on startup
- Start Multi-sync
2. Multi-sync
- Refresh message foders
These should be disabled!

Translation of Koelner's post:
I'm not entirely sure but I suspect this describes the behavior of the MPE when first installing the program on a PC and then connecting to a phone.
At this point (at least that's how it was in the past, I haven't installed the MPE anywhere for a long time) the program starts quite openly with a sync, which you can cancel, but the step to get there is not intuitive.
This is very close to what my original post is about. Except that program starts quite openly with a sync every time new user is being added (not only when app is first installed). I consider this behavior too aggressive. User should have say as of what will be synced before it started. It can be cancelled when first item (contacts) is being synced. But it does not prevent contacts to be synced (I believe).
I believe these steps should be separated. New user should be created first. Then user should be able to change profile settings (and disable all the items icke1954 mentions) and then if syncing is enabled, then so be it. Sync it whenever user wants.
