Hello,
I use MPE for a backup of my contacts and for saving important text messages. With the latest version of MPE, when I open the exported file with a notepad as I always do, it looks awful, completely unreadable. Before it looked like this:
Recipient: (Name)
Time: Monday, 22-3-2021 17:09:10
Text: (Message)
Sender: (Name)
Time: Monday, 22-3-2021 17:02:46
Text: (Message)
Wonderful.
Now it looks like this:
BEGIN:VMESSAGE
TYP:SMS;IN
BOX:INBOX
READ:1
DATE:20210515T160020Z
NUMBER:(telephone number)
BODY: (Message)
X-IRMC-LUID:0000000001CA
END:VMESSAGE
Please help. If it stays like this, I cannot but stop using MPE for this is of no use. I tried other programs in Windows to open the vmsg file, but to no avail. Is there another program I can open this file with in a readable manner? Or can I go back to a previous version of MPE where this was still okay?
Thanks,
Fréderique

I solved this.
Today I looked at the issue again to maybe find another way. Then I noticed this: when I export the selected messages (right click > Export/Import > Export selected messages) the "save as" option was set to vMessage-File (*.vmsg) instead of the Text files (*.txt) which I always used. So by changing that setting back to *.txt the issue was solved.
I suppose in some update this setting was changed or changed back to the default setting of *.vmsg?
I'm very happy.
