Syncing Contacts adds "+" to the front of some pho

Beitrag von caseymac »

When syncing with Outlook 2003 Contacts with my W810i cell, MyPhoneExplorer adds "+" in front of some phone numbers.

For example in Outlook a phone number may be defined as (503) 123-3456. After using MyPhoneExplorer to sync with my cell, the phone number ends up being stored as +5031233456. The problem is, the cell doesn't like dialing numbers with the "+" in front. Funny thing, it only happens to numbers with a particular set of area codes.

Anyone see this?

MyPhoneExplorer looks for countrycodes and try to "fix" the +-sign. +503 is also a country code. If you doesnt put the 503 into brackets then it will work.

ahhh ha .. interresting, thanx for the info. However, Outlook 2003 forces area codes into brackets. I've been unable to figure a way to change phone numbers into a xxx-xxx-xxxx format.

Does anyone know how to change the phone number format in Outlook 2003 from (xxx) xxx-xxxx to a xxx-xxx-xxxx format? Outlook keeps forcing the parens (aka brackets) onto the area codes. thanx.

Sorry - i don't know it. in my Outlook i can save numbers without any bracket. The Problem is that some users save their numbers like this "(49) 012345 6789012345" - the xountrycode in brackets. So this filter is needed and i cannot remove it.

I have most of my numbers saved simply as 19171234567.
When i want to place call from Explorer it dials +119171234567... and of course the call can not be completed.
Any way to fix it?
Thanks

MyPhoneExplorer doesn't add the languagecode before dialing. Do you see the "+1" also on the phone ? Where do you come from ?

Yep... when i have number saved in my phone book as: 19171234567, myphoneexplorer will dial +119171234567. In NY it's ok to dial either 19171234567 or 9171234567. But +119171234567won't get you anywhere... So this is where my questions gets to the point: is there a way to make myphoneexplorer not add absolutely anything before number?

Do you read my posts before you answer ? The phone adds the languagecode itself i think. Another way which could help: Raise MyPhoneExplorer to dial the number via keypad. FAQ
