SMS Messages Not sysncing

I have been a user for a long time - great product.
I have just switched my phone to Nokia 8.1 and now seem to have problems synchronising my sms messages. I have deleted messages on phone but they still appear on desktop app. I can't manually delete from desktop.
Suspect something trivial but unable to find a solution at the moment.

Any help appreciated

Hi,
Thanks for your response.

I managed to download an apk version 1.0.47 (the version I previously used as I recollect).
I uninstalled the current version and then installed 47.
Seems to be installed with correct version but still have same problem. I am syncing with Outlook (as previously).
However my phone shows 1 SMS (I deleted others) whereas my desktop shows several messages which I had deleted on the phone. I can't delete from the desktop and they don't get erased when syncing

I just tried again and then found a pop up on the phone enabling me to change to default messaging system. I have done this and can now delete from the desktop but didn't appear to do this as part of syncing.

Far from perfect but now workable.
