A suggestion about changes in reocuring meetings

Hi,

First I would like to thank you for a wonderful product which works much much better than the original PC-Suite.

Second, I would like to suggest a work-around for the problem with changes in a recurring meeting. As I understand from other questions in this forum, the problem is in the phone software, that does not allow such change.
My idea is to sync the meetings to the phone in such a way that it does not put them as a recurring meeting but rather as a one time meeting - since I, for example, sync up to 3 months ahead.
This could be a configuration option.

And last, if there is a possibility to get the source code, for me to be able to add changes, and to suggest them back, like implementing this issue for example, it would be great (i.e. having it as an open-source project), but I'm willing to get a no for an answer

Hy - your idea is basicly good (i had it already), but there are some problems:
- The Events in the phone are limited to 300 entries. For someone who uses the organizer for business this is not very much. Changing a ruled Event to single events would create many duplicates.
- It would be very hard to detect the ruletypes only by listing the singfle events.
- it would make many problems to sync those events back to other PIM-Applications (especially the mixed sync f.e. first Outlook, then Google)

All in all i decided its better to keep a stable app and to life with the limitations of the phone.


MyPhoneExplorer is not OpenSource. Every piece of the code is my work and you can trust me - it was alot of work during the last 3 years. I wrote already something about OpenSource in my Forum - just use the search.
