Thunderbird Screwed Me Again With Update
Thunderbird Screwed Me Again With Update
The latest update (78.3.1) stopped WPE so I just back graded to 78.0.
But if I try to synchronize contacts I get:
"Loading entries from Thunderbird failed!"
Everything else under Multi-sync works.
In TB, Add-ons manager, MPE is enabled but there is a purple mask symbol like FireFox uses for incognito browsing.
How far back do I have to go with TB to get MPE working?
And why is mozilla making me waste so much of my life?
I'm 73 years old and can't be wasting my life fighting with software updates.
PS. I love MPE!!!

2. MPE nightly
3. In Thunderbird the MPE-AddIn 3.0.9

First step, already install so I uninstalled and reinstalled
Second step C!icking "MPE nightly" will download the program "MyPhoneExplorer_DebugUpdate.exe"
Installing it keeps hitting "Error opening file for writing.....MozillaConnector.exe"
Stopped TB, same problem. I tried "ignore" for the error but that didn't help.
I backed TB back to 78.0, still the same.
Upgraded to TB 78.3.1 (32-bit)
Still getting the MozillaConnector problem during install of MPE..DebugUpdate.
I also tried the MPE-Addin 3.0.9 but TB Add-ons can't find it (Any TB selected).
If I click your 3.0.9 link in FireFox, just for fun, I know it is a TB add-on, but FireFox blocks it as an unverified add-on. I don't know if TB won't find it because it is unverified by Mozilla....just taking a wild guess.
Note in the word Cl!cking I wanted to type an "l" not "!" but if I do the word comes out as xxx in preview???????
Please check before the installation via the task manager that the MozillaConnector.exe has not started..petec hat geschrieben:Installing it keeps hitting "Error opening file for writing.....MozillaConnector.exe"

The first step worked.
There were two copies of the connector running.
I ended both.
Then the debug file ran to completion.
But the MPE-Addin is still a problem.
If I right click the link in your post I don't get a Save as option.
I get 4 "Open" options,
Various options for doing things with the link (save, save to pocket....)
And where would I save it that TB can find it?
I still love MPE!

Please wait.....icke1954 hat geschrieben:MyPhoneExplorer 3.0.9 is OK!
Have you tried to synchronize now?
Which error message is displayed for which sync (contacts or appointments)
Then
Error....
(Big X) Loading entries from Thunderbird failed!
Same thing happens on my other Windows 8.1 computer.
I am running TB 78.3.1 is that correct?
Also, this started when upgrading to 78.3.1. Then TB reported that MPE was no longer compatible. Is MPE 3.0.9 compatible with TB 78.3.1? TB says it is where as it didn't before.
Note, Multi-sync works for everything else (organizer, notes, file lists, sync files) TB Calendar is the organizer I use.
Oops, I'm still not out of the woods.icke1954 hat geschrieben:Thanks for your feedback!
Best regards icke
I tried the same with my other Windows 8.1 computer and when I click the Advance button I get the settings screen but then I get a splash, "Folder structure from Thunderbird could not be listed!"
Then I can't make any changes.
MPE Version 3.0.9 fresh install
TB 78.3.1
Sorry.

Same problem here (even with the recipe applied)icke1954 hat geschrieben:- Click "OK" and then change the Thunderbird-Profile in MPE.petec hat geschrieben: Folder structure from Thunderbird could not be listed!
- Or start "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -p and change the profile
TB 78.3.1 (64 bits) or TB 82.0b2 (64 bits) MPE addon 3.0.9
MPE nightly 21/09/2020
BTW, while I am here, 3 more things :
1- TB address book tend to be replaced by the Cardbook addon
(https://addons.thunderbird.net/fr/thun ... cardbook/ wich has it's own database. Could you plan to support it in MPE ?
2- Using this forum is not easy for non-german speaking people. May be this phpbb addon https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... pport_mod/ or a similar one could help.
3- Your software is a must for cloud-reluctant people like me. Could you be able to develop and maintain it for a long time ! And yes, I will contribute.
Many thanks for everything.
I have only 1 profile, default.icke1954 hat geschrieben:- Click "OK" and then change the Thunderbird-Profile in MPE.petec hat geschrieben: Folder structure from Thunderbird could not be listed!

In TB that is the selected one.
I can't find a way to change/select a profile in MPE.
I have already paid, a few years ago.
I would be happy to pay more.
Sadly, I got this far but was still getting the error listed above.icke1954 hat geschrieben:Temporarily realize the following:
MPE => F2 => Sync = Events and tasks / Advanced... => "Interface-Timeout ..." => set to 60 seconds
Doing a "thunderbird.exe" -p however, without changing the profile name or anything else, just load it with -p, select the profile you use all the time, then quit thunderbird, seems to have kicked the system awake and now it works.
Just FYI. I realize this is a necro-post, but I found the steps are still relevant except for that missing last step, so maybe someone else having issues as well?
