messages syncing only one way i.e. received not sent

I'm getting a mysterious error. When using MPE linked via wifi or USB, I can both send, receive and reply to messages but nothing I send shows up in the messages list until I refresh the view. My outbound messages don't show in Conversation or in Sent Items views.

PC is an ASUS laptop with W10 patched to current levels running MPE 1.8.12 . Phone is Galaxy 8 with Android 9 and MPE client 1.0.70
