Version 1.8.12 crashes sometimes when changing user

Greetings all,
Sometimes when I change user on MPE version 1.8.12 it will crash without warning, and it only mentions an error 9, for example here are the last few lines of the debug log:
05:41:24.93 LoadGridLayout Error: 9
05:41:24.95 LoadGridLayout Error: 9
05:41:24.97 LoadGridLayout Error: 9
05:41:25.27 Anrufe geladen
05:41:25.27 Organizer LoadUser DefaultTimeColWidth=135
05:41:25.30 LoadDatafile: Organizer.dat(45 Bytes)

Has anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this crash?
(I can supply all of the debug log if required.)

Crashes on the phone with Android 6.x when switching from a phone with Android 9.x.

Any fix / suggestions from the dev team would be appreciated.
