Can't delete SMS on phone from desktop since last update
Before the recent MPE update, I could select one or more SMS messages on my MPE desktop client, then click Delete. My Samsung Galaxy S5 would pop up a message asking me for permission to let MPE handle my SMS messages, I would click on Allow (or whatever that button was called), and I could then delete SMS messages on my phone and MPE desktop client with no problems.
Since the recent MPE update, if I select one or more SMS messages on my MPE desktop client and click Delete, I get a pop-up message which quotes the text of my SMS message and also says "Cannot be deleted!"
This problem has only occurred since the recent MPE Android updates and I have changed nothing in my Galaxy S5 phone or desktop MPE client.
How can I solve this problem so that I can delete SMS messages on my phone and MPE desktop from within the MPE desktop client?
Thank you.

Re: Can't delete SMS on phone from desktop since last update
After the latest Android OS update yesterday MPE was nixed as the default messaging app on my phone. Now Messenger is the only option, and reinstalling the MPE Client phone app didn't reinstate it. If Messenger is the messaging app you can't delete messages on the phone from the desktop.

Thank you for your post. However, my phone has not had an Android OS upgrade. It is still operating on Android 6.0.1, as it has been for a long time. MPE was working fine on 6.0.1 and I was able to delete SMS messages on the phone from the PC desktop. This problem only started a few days ago and I know of no changes except the recent MPE Android updates.
I hope that this issue will be fixed because the ability to manage and delete SMS messages from the PC desktop is an extremely useful and important feature of MPE.

The MPE update IS the reason you can't now manage SMS messages on your phone. But, if you read the link and other threads more carefully, you'd see that the reason MPE has had to change is because of changes that Google have made. Nothing to do with the version of Android you are on.healinghands33 hat geschrieben:Thank you for your post. However, my phone has not had an Android OS upgrade. Scope for new messaging app?
Given the change in policy for Android apps (see links in previous comments), is there any scope to produce dedicated messaging/dialling apps to satisfy Google permissions adjudicators?
Also, is there any leeway under the 'exceptional scenarios' criteria as described here at:-

I tried to install MyPhoneExplorer Client from https://www.fjsoft.at/files/mpeclient_1.0.48.apk, but then it says that the apk is corrupt
UnChained version
Any chances if unchained version on FossHub for example - sideload apk with permissions needed? Or can i edit apk to have permissions?
