On the latest Play Store version and the option to keep MPE turned on if within range of a wifi SSID seems to have disappeared. Or is it just me?

OK. Just used Google translate on a post from FJ in the German forum:
"Furthermore, apps that are programmed for Android 8 and newer are no longer informed if, for example, the mobile phone dials in another WLAN or if Bluetooth is activated. For this reason, the client can now no longer start automatically in a particular Wi-Fi network, for Bluetooth is the same".
So, no auto start on my home wifi. Have to work in a different way then ... hmmmm....

To work around this issue I have rolled back to the .47 client. If I really needed a later one, which can't detect the active SSID, I would use Tasker. I've used Tasker for years to write tasks that automate many functions.
I don't understand why Tasker can still detect my SSID and launch the MPE client when I'm at home. I don't use this because when MPE is run by Tasker when it's already running, the MPE window pops into the foreground, but not if it's launched when it's not running. This interferes with other activities.
If Tasker can detect the SSID then why can't MPE?
