Unable to Delete SMS
Unable to Delete SMS
I am using Samsung S10 and win 10. MPE was able to delete SMS easily till last week after I accepted the change default SMS app notification which appeared on phone on giving delete command.
Now all other aspects of MPE are working perfectly except that the default SMS change notification is not appearing on the phone when I try to delete SMS on phone through MPE and consequently, SMS are not getting deleted.
I have not done any changes either in my PC or phone.

Also cant archive or delete SMS in MPE
SAME ISSUE with Samsung S7 & Win7. MPE v1.0.56
I archive and delete SMS/MMS from my phone using MPE every quarter. This keeps the number of messages down to a reasonable size without sacrificing history.
TODAY, I cant do it. most of the messages would not copy to the archive and I dont think any have deleted. As there are around 800 messages involved just for the quarter, this is not something I want to tackle manually.
I'm guessing it is the 'privacy' app issue? Is there any way around this as I will shortly have a problem with space if I cannot archive each quarter.

Another one here...
… Android 9, Sony Xperia, worked perfectly until a few days ago - not sure what the trigger was possibly and Android update (been a couple recently)?

Same here, can't delete from MPE

SMS Won't delete
Same issue with Huawei Y9. Have used this software for several years and never had this problem. Also if I 'read' the current messages then subsequently reload all the messages appear UNREAD again (and get notifications of new SMS)
I also note there is a TEST button on the client software - which I had not noticed before but this helps 'resolve' connection issues - GOOD NEWS
I don't have the problem expressed elsewhere of '800' messages so deleting from the 'phone is not a real problem - except of course - they are gone and are not transferred to archive.

It seems to me as though the Google guidelines are vague enough to allow you to implement delete if you wish to.
From the link
https://support.google.com/googleplay/a ... er/9047303 C
The exception section notes that this restriction doesn't apply to
"Connected device companion apps that enable sending and receiving of SMS or calls"
or even for "Device automation"
What's a Windows PC running MPE if it's not a connected device being used for sending and receiving SMS?
This seems like more a guideline, than a concrete restriction, and I can't see why Google would object to you doing this in a phone management application. It's not as though it's a fraudulent backdoor use of the SDK.
Just a thought
