error 372 - running vista 32bit

I've searched the forums but there hasn't been anything to make it wok it for me. i get the dreaded 372 error regardless.

I am logged in as admin, i even try to run the program in compatibility mode and "as administrator". I tried uninstalling 1.60 and installing 1.59, doesn't matter. I get the same error in 1.59 and 1.60. I even reboot after eash uninstallation. I downloaded and installed the vb 6 run times.

any idea?

I tried this program at work today for the first time and it is most definitely exactly what i need. the only difference between home and work is that i run xp at work and vista at home.

any ideas?

i got the same error in Vista on 1.6.0
but then i installed 1.5.9 it worked at once !

first install v1.5.9, then install v1.6.0. It will be fixed in the next minor update.

unfortunately that is not doing it for me.

I install 1.60 on top of 1.59. Asks to reboot, reboot i do. Still the same error. Oh well, got to wait for the next update.

Sorry. I installed 1.59 and then 1.60. Everything is OK!!

This is really frustrating...

I don't know why I am not having any success with this. I installed 1.59, then 1.60 like others, but even though it is meant to eliminate the error 372, I keep getting.

Downloaded 1.61, installed and I am still getting the same error.

I am logged in as admin, I have UAC turned off. Try to run as admin, try compatibility modes, still the same.

Can anyone help?

Please check if the files comctl32.ocx and SPort.dll are in your system-directory and if they are registred correctly.

both files are located in the system directory (c:\windows\system32\) how would i make sure they are registered properly?

Copy both files to C:\Programs\MyPhoneExplorer\ then drop the files on the file C:\Windows\system32\regsvr32.exe

OK, turn UAC back on, everything works fine and dandy. While UAC is still off and I try to drag both dlls on to the regsvr32.exe regsvr32.exe crashes. I still copy the dll's to the mpe directory though, and obviously i get the same error 372.

It seems i can only get it to work when UAC is off. And man, UAC is so annoying to leave on.

Hope that helps for a future bug fix.
