Hehe - just give me the data. AFAIK you cannot get the zip-code-tables from Sweden for free

Here...

http://www.posten.se/foretag/vara_tjans ... dex_v.jspv

Under "Sök postnummer" you can get the zip code using adress or "Postort " (town)

Under "Sök adress" you get the zip code using the Street adress

Under "Ladda ner postnummerkatalogen" you can download the entire catalogue...

Hope this helps!

Very thanks for your Mail. It looks good.

By going throught the Excel-File i saw some duplicates. Please take a look at it and tell me what should be used as City and which Column should be used as State.

Beitrag von Henke »

You only need the two first columns. No need for state

No need for State ? I think if we make this it should be work to 100%.

In sweden states are not used in addresses.
We have some analogy to states, but you wouldn't use it in an address
Anyhow, there is no such info in the file I sent you. The other data is for other purposes

Addresses are written like.

Firstname Lastname
Streetname number
105 10 STOCKHOLM
SWEDEN

In this french site you can get zip codes for belgium, france, luxembourg, suisse:
http://www.vbfrance.com/codes/CODES-POSTAUX-FSBL_34284.aspx
you have to click on thr glass icon on the right of the file (else you need to be registred to download the file, but you can copy/paste the text)

@Oré: Your data-source showed me that many citys in france has the same zip-code. Is this correct ? Just want to be sure cause i think its unusual to use the same zip-code for a couple of citys.

Yes it's correct, because little cities in the countryside have the zip-code of a bigger city in proximity (for exemple, Vif is a city, the zip-code is 38450, and there are little cities with the same zip-code, like Les Saillant, Reymure...). But I don't think how to choose which has the priority

OK, please test the database with some citys you know and give feedback if everthing is OK. The list you get on more than one result is unsorted - this will be fixed in the next minor update.

Seems to work...
Except it says Schweden instead of Sweden (or maybe Sverige as we say in Sweden)

Nice!

Great it works very well! But I don't know if you can traduce "Frankreich" to "France" (or make it change according to the current langage).
Thank you, you're the best :P

I just notice a litte thing: for exemple the zip-code of Viffort in France is 02540, but it displays 2540, the first "0" is missing...

he first off all great programme you've got here.
There is only one thing missing, and that's the Dutch ZIP-Code-Database.
Maybe this sites can help.
http://www.postcode.nl

here you type de zip code our the town, address.

http://www.verhuisadvies.nl/postcodeoverzicht.html
I don't know if this is usefull but the 2 digits are the first 2 of 4 digit zip code.

address are written
name
address+ house number
zip code (4 numbers an 2 letters) town name
Netherlands(Nederland)

edit: I adjusted a xml file maybe this is even a better use.
the bigger towns have more zip codes that's why there is a begin and ending postcode(de codes in between count xxx well).
And the region number is when you want to call( you start with +31 then the number 23 and then the phone number)
and yes its correct that there are a few towns with the same name.
