Interface Glitch

Beitrag von Bryan84 »

On my Vista, I think this is a GUI glitch.

Bild

Notice the small "_" on the left of Minimise, Maximise, Close?

Yeah small "_" is supposed to be Minimise to System Tray. And that "_" only appears after pressing the bigger "Minimise" button and opening MPE again.

I hope I made myself clear. As simple as I can get.

Err? First time I seen a developer saying it's not an important bug and will not fix. .. Strange .. okay then .. your choice.

He doesn't say that he won't fix it...

As a developer I can say that it's impossible to fix an error accurately you can't simulate. And FJ isn't able to fix this error now because he doesn't have Windows Vista installed.

I've installed Vista + MyPhoneExplorer and there it look like this:

So maybe its a problem related to different Vista themes/designs...

I just installed "Vista transformation Pack" in WinXP SP2 and I also get the bug.

Not a big problem for me, but could perhaps help if FJ wants to remove it without installing Vista.

The "Vista transformation Pack" is useless for me. This is only a bitmap-overlay for the common XP.

Yeah agree. And if you have successfully installed it, people said that you should try NOT to uninstall. If not prepare for some screw up :D

I did uninstall it once, no problem.
Well, the strange thing is that the same glitch occurs. Could it be something with the width of those buttons?

Anyway, It doesn't bother me.

Generally there is no documented way to place ownerdrawn new buttons in the windowbar. Its also not possible to get a correct value where the normal buttons are placed. So i had to do some tricks to find it out. I tested it on Windows 98 and Windows XP with the common styles. Thats all i can do - if i have Vista i will also test (and fix) it for Vista.
