Crash while syncing text messages

MPE crashes while syncing text messages. The counter makes it about 1/3 through, roughly 8000 messages, but it varies. A message appears that says MPE has crashed and Windows has no solution but will notify me if one becomes available.

Is there a workaround or setting missing or is this a bug?

Same here with MPE 1.8.8 (Win 10, Kaspersky TS). Reinstall does not help. Installation of 1.8.7 solved the problem (today), but obviously I don't know for how long.

I installed 1.8.7(as suggested above) and it worked for a few sync's. The same problem has started again. I can sync everything but the messages, and that crashes about halfway through on the progress bar. Contacts, phone log, calendar all sync fine.

I first experienced this issue on the previous version. I upgraded to 1.8.11 and it is still there.
I am on windows 10 Build 18298.rs (this is a preview build that is due to roll out en masse during the next cycle.
