Hi. I want to keep Google's hands off my data. Currently I sync contacts and calendar on Thunderbird/Lightening with my phone and turn off syncing to Google. It works well - many thanks (and I have donated in the past and will again). However a single misclick can start a sync to Google. Also, one time an android update changed the sync behaviour and my data was uploaded without my consent.
All I want is to be able to sync between tablet, phone and PC locally. Internet not required. Are there any standalone android contact and calendar apps that MPE can sync to? Google does work but makes me nervous.

I am glad I found this thread. My problem seems the same but I can't events from/to the phone.
I have an Amazon FirePhone with the "built in Calendar app". I didn't like that all events went to the Amazon Cloud. So I created a new calendar in MPE called "My New" and it appeared with no entries in the Calendar app.
I had many events in the Amazon Cloud Calendar.
I changed the desktop MPE settings, Calendar to Sync, to sync My New only. and tried a calendar sync and got a message about no events in My New, did I want to "get" them. (I don't remember the exact words).
I said Yes and My New (on phone) was now synced with MPE and TB. Great!
So I put an event in TB (at 3:00), another in MPE (at 2:00) and another in My New on the phone (at 1:00) and did a multisync. The first two events synced fine between TB and MPE but they are not on the phone nor is the phone event in the MPE or TB calendars.
MPE on the phone has Calendars to Sync showing My New.
Somebody hit me between the eyes and tell me what I am doing wrong please.
