In MPE on my PC:jrase hat geschrieben:In MPE (on my PC) under "Organizer", the only words listed are "Calendar" and "Notes". There is no "My Calendar" and there is no list under "Calendar".

In my Phone => Google calendar app:

You turn off the sync between your phone and Google's servers.CatB hat geschrieben:I don't think I turned off anything and when syncing my Google Pixel with MPE, it seemed to update my Google stock calendar and Outlook.dvhttn hat geschrieben:I also sync Outlook via MPE with my Google 'calendar' on the phone. However, I firstly turn off Google syncing with it's servers so that any Outlook data is only transferred to my phone. I could set up a local calendar for this but I just find it convenient to use one that exists already.
If your appts. are missing is it because you have Google sync turned on? That woul dmean that your phone is syncing with Googles servers which have, in your case I assume, no entries?
How do you turn off the Google server? And is this necessary? ... .
Ok, since I am really short on time right now, I will likely wait until later today to go thru the steps you mentioned above, regarding doing the backup and changing the Local Calendar settings. Once I do, I will let you know how it goes.dvhttn hat geschrieben:You turn off the sync between your phone and Google's servers.CatB hat geschrieben:I don't think I turned off anything and when syncing my Google Pixel with MPE, it seemed to update my Google stock calendar and Outlook.dvhttn hat geschrieben:I also sync Outlook via MPE with my Google 'calendar' on the phone. [phone]Settings > Accounts > Google > (turn off the sync options).
TYhat way you can sync your PC to your phone's Google account but the phone won't sync with Google so your data is kept on your phone/PC.
Ok, not 100% sure if I did this right but went into Contacts, then Settings > Accounts > (made sure Google Contact sync is off) > MyLocalAccount - sync is on.icke1954 hat geschrieben:Phone => Contacts-App => Settings => Contacts Account view => only one Account (MyLocalAccount) activateCatB hat geschrieben:Now, on my actual phone, a nightmare of duplicates! (How can this be, if MPE and my phone are supposed to "mirror" each other???)
Ok, so this seemed to work well. I have a few dups but can easily delete those by hand. So, a few things going forward please:icke1954 hat geschrieben:Good morning,
if...then...
- Phone => Contacts-App => Settings => Contacts Account view => only "MyLocalAccount" activate
- Phone => MPE-Client => Settings => contacts-account to sync only "My LocalAccount" activate
- MPE => F2 => Sync => Contacts/Sync with => Advanced => Outlook folder to sychronise only one folder activate
- delete all contacts in your phone
- MPE => contacts => Blue arrow (Download entire)
- sync force Outlook > phone
Yes, phone => MPE-Client => Settings => Manage local calendar : Here are all the local calendar is displayed.CatB hat geschrieben:Meaning, it looks like there is a MyLocalAccount for Contacts. Is there one for calendar, too?
If I go into MPE on my phone > settings > Manage local calendars > There ARE NO local calendars. All I see is an option to "Create new local calendar" and a tag for Birthdays. No other things listed.icke1954 hat geschrieben:Yes, phone => MPE-Client => Settings => Manage local calendar : Here are all the local calendar is displayed.CatB hat geschrieben:Meaning, it looks like there is a MyLocalAccount for Contacts. Ok, but again, this is where I am confused so please bear with me. Right now, since there is nothing under "Local calendar" that basically means I am syncing Outlook with my phone and Gmail/Google calendar. Correct?icke1954 hat geschrieben:Yes, you create a new calendar and sync only with it and OutlookCatB hat geschrieben:All I see is an option to "Create new local calendar"
Yes!CatB hat geschrieben:Right now, since there is nothing under "Local calendar" that basically means I am syncing Outlook with my phone and Gmail/Google calendar. Correct?
Many! The Google Sync is not considered a "real" Sync. It only takes your data and saves it. On th other hand, the MPE compares data and gives you the chance to choose which set of data to keep.CatB hat geschrieben:And, is there any reason I would not want to do that?
No. If something goes wrong with your Sync with Google you will have data loss.CatB hat geschrieben:Wouldn't syncing with Google calendar assure that I always have a backup of my appts, in case something went wrong?
Not automatically, you have to keep an eye on the settigs in the MPE client and in the MPE programm to get the proper settings for the Sync. But thats easy done within a minute.CatB hat geschrieben:And if there is a reason I would NOT want to sync with Google calendar, just choosing "Create New Local", and naming it whatever I want, would automatically allow me to sync that with Outlook and MPE?
Ok, so Google Calendar might not be the way to go. So, could you walk me thru setting up a local calendar and how to make MPE sync with that and Outlook?Koelner hat geschrieben:Yes!CatB hat geschrieben:Right now, since there is nothing under "Local calendar" that basically means I am syncing Outlook with my phone and Gmail/Google calendar. Using a local calendar and the MPE always leaves you an option to recover from the stored data on your computer.

DON´T DON´T DON´T !!! The moment you keep Google Sync on you will face data loss.CatB hat geschrieben:Also, is there any disadvantage to setting up both a local calendar to sync with MPE and Outlook, while keeping Google Calendar alsos synced with them? Meaning, can MPE sync with both a local calendar and Outlook and also Google calendar and Outlook? Or is this overkill?
CatB hat geschrieben:I wish I understood all this stuff a bit more!
What do you mean by this? Don't many people use Google calendar with no issues? I have used other 3rd party apps in the past and certainly had data loss before.Koelner hat geschrieben:DON´T DON´T DON´T !!!
