here is the problem. my old man lives in another city and he just crushed his phone. i have his back up file in my computer and already mailed it to him. but he does not have a computer and he cant use a computer anyway.

Try to export his phonebook data in .vcf format on your PC (contacts list > context menu > export/import > export entire phonebook > .vcf) then send him this datafile.
.vcf is general format to be understood and accepted by many different apps, including android cellular phones built-in contact managers.
Your man simply to open downloaded .vcf on his new phone to get data back.
At least his phonebook (with contacts, their phones, mails, user photos, notes etc.) will be restored.
Not sure for another data (messages, organizer, call logs and so on if needed), just try (using appropriate common data formats).
