Hi,
I write from India and have been using your app for some time now.
Its a very good app especially the mpe notes are a boon.
Information
Phone model : Lenovo A6000 plus
Version of : Mpe 1.8.7
OS : Windows 7
I have a question?
I was facing some problem with the phone software. Accordingly the call centre people asked me to reset the phone. I took a backup of everything I needed. For contacts, sms, calendar etc i used MPE.
The problem now is when I connected my phone it was recognized as a new phone and would not restore the backed up data.
It shows my phone as 2 different phonesi.e. 2 different users.
Please solve this.
Srinivas. |

Well, the first question is: what has happend to you phone?
Did you just do a factory reset or did you give it to them and got it back later?
The phone is identified via it´s IMEI, so there has to be a change of some sort. |

I just upgraded my Android CyanogenMod from 11.x to 12.x to get Android 5. My phone model changed and MPE detected my phone as a new device and created a new user. I had 18 custom file transfer jobs defined on the old phone and I'd like to transfer these to the new profile and delete the old one, without having to re-enter every job. Please tell me there's a way to do this. |

Is there no way to export/import the file sync settings from one phone to another? The lack of response suggests that there's not.
This would be a very useful feature to add. |

@Bill Irwin
Without guarantee, because I do not know whether the paths defined still exist in the mobile phone ?! Open the settings.dat in your old database in an editor and copy all 18 sections with [File Sync_....] will start in the clipboard.
You insert these in the settings.dat your new database
best regards

This got the sync jobs into the new user profile. Thanks.
Now MPE wants to copy all the files PC -> phone that are already on it! It appears that the cache isn't recognizing all the files that are already there. Is it possible to move that to the new profile cache area without breaking other things? |

I am currently re-syncing all the files and will look for duplicates and delete them. Over the years that I've been using MPE I've seen it several times want to re-copy huge whacks of files that have not changed, which is why I have the warning set at 10 or 50 (depending on the activity level of the folder) to give me a chance to abort the sync.
Over all MPE is a very useful app. I wish it wouldn't go into "not responding" mode for long periods where I know it is doing something and will come back to life. Perhaps my choice of CyanogenMod for OS has something to do with that.
Thanks for your help. |
