In trying to fix a problem, I may have created a larger one...please help.
I revised the "Settings/Sync" options to select only one account. I thought this would sync only that account. Instead it moved ALL 2700 contacts out of where they are supposed to be and put them in that one account on MPE and on the Android. Somehow there are now 2700 contacts on MPE, and 4400 on the phone.
How do I undo this???
The good news: before this happened, with MPE client open on the phone, and phone connected to the computer, I clicked "Extra/Create Backup." It took about an hour, so I hope my data is there somewhere. I have also turned off the phone to google contacts sync for all accounts.
Hopefully there is a way to delete all the contacts from MPE, sync that delete to the phone, google and MS exchange contacts, restore from the backup and get everything back in it's proper place in the proper account.
The problem I was trying to solve is that one of my Google accounts will not sync contacts. There are 100's of contacts with phone numbers only on the phone and on MPE, that I cannot get onto the Google account.
How to restore??
What you can do is delete all of the contacts on your phone. If you go into the settings and app info of your contacts you can clear the data. Then delete everything in MPE. After all have been deleted, do the restore. This should put everything back on your phone from the back up.
This is what I have done when I have had duplicates. Not sure if it will work for you but something you may want to try.
