How to exclude a directory from sync?

While syncing files "Files | Settings | Multi-sync | Customize" I can not exclude a directory from the job. I have tried strings like '\DirName\', '*\DirName\*.*' and still the directory gets synchronized.

The additional question is how to manage a directory with spaces in its name. I expect that "name with spaces" should work.
