I do not seem to be able to find a manual describing how to copy all the MPE-data (Organizer, Messages, Contacts etc.) to a new phone...

The new phone is registered in MPE as another (new) user, and i do not find a copy-to-(other)profile in the menus... Is this possible to do, please?

(Found this in German section, but i do not understand German hence not sure if actually does cover the issue:

Help is very much appreciated here Smile
Best regards

Well, a little research in the forum would do the trick.
It´s all about the right phrases to search for and reading older threads.

The function you´re looking for is not implemented in the MPE and will never come. You can´t just swap data from one phone to another.
What you can do, is to create a backup of your data and draw that backup into a different device. For details I recommend careful reading in the forum if you´re not firm with the process.

Thx for reply Smile
OK... no, i'm not familiar (and have searched...).

If you've found a thorough descriptive thread on this procedure, you can make my day (and more than that really) by shairing a URl, please?

Thx and have a wonderful day Smile

Pls. allow me to add, that i have extremely difficult to see this as beeing very logical in terms of central functions that you WILL eventually need at one point when having to migrate to a new/other device (for whatever the reason might be i.e. obsoleteness, theft (my current problem), malfunction etc.)?!?

What do you believe is the point of not servicing (leaving out) this critical function for such a basic (inherent) need?

The reason, why this function does not work for the MPE lies in the history of the development of this software and that the MPE only can be connected to one device at the same time. We´ve discussed this here before, sorry that I can´t give you a different answer. At least you still can do a backup and integrate this backup into a different device. Thats serves the purpose only that it is not that convenient.

Allright - and thx for answer Smile

But then it is a total riddle to me, why this function (restore backup to another - or new - device) is not readily accessible on the very top of the hotlist of how-to/FAQ???

All i know is, that i am seemingly NOT able to find this in FAQ.

And further, that my forum-search (which should really not be neccessary at all) has not returned any conclusive - say THOROUGH and FIRM - step-by-step description on how this is carried out in a safe and fool-proof way...

At this point I'm really rather dissapointed on this otherwise cool product, i have to admit... Sad

That´s because the MPE started not as a product but as a hobby of FJ.
And still the MPE is not sold for money and therefore you can´t expect technical support.
Also with FJ coming from Austria and the first Beta-Testers and many others coming from Germany this forums first language is german what could lead to the possibility that some things are not written down in english.

If you find yourself able to write down a complete and better FAQ as we have it today, feel free to email your text to FJ, he will gladly put it up in the forum.

It's a real pity...

And every single aspect (flaw) mentioned is pretty much enough reason in itself to stay away and find a and more fullfilling and complete alternative...

Unless of course you are not here for adequate solutions but rather share a software-developing ambition with a taste for spending time solving basic problems...?

That's just not my profile hence my recommendation has changed to reservation with respect to this issue i'm afraid.

Well, actually I don´t know what you want.
You have a free tool here that works fine for users all other the world. Use it or leave it.
Your endless complains about everything won´t change anything.
Face it, the MPE might not be the software you need.
So we all wish you good luck finding your solution.

I'm sorry if you take my pointing out one very central shortcomming of MPE somewhat personal - it seems like you'e perhaps a bit agitated in your last reply i have to say?

Well, that is truly not intented as well as there is neither any mention of you or anything else personal in my thread except facts regarding this single issue related to MPE only.

And your rhetoric strategy trying to ridicule my point by arbitrarily referring to: "[my] endless complaints about everything [...]" is just sad and absolutely dishonest.

If you pls. will read the above again you'll clearly understand, that i am only putting forward ONE (1) single issue, and that is the obvious need for a clear cut step-by-step guide on how to migrate old data (calendar etc.) to a new device.

The reason beeing that this vital and very fundamental function - as you have been so kind to point out - is not, and (again according to you) never will be, integrated in MPE.

Enough said.

Hope this will help you for a short instruction.
Please note: You can NOT restore apps and their data, but as you mentioned contacts, organizer and messages.

best regards...

Soooo simple... (and with the extra finesse of importing as an alternative to restoring).

Thank you VERY much for your help Smile
