Hi there,
Trying to synch my phone - and I keep getting this error
OBEX Protocol could not be initialized!
OBEX Errorcode: C0 - Bad request - sever could not understand request.
Tried it with a w800 and w810 - same thing.
Although, I did manage to (somehow) be able to view all my messages, but not to synch and/or download the phone contacts.
Any ideas? |

yes, well the english faq
i cant see anything related to the problem?? am i just blind!?!? 
it does show up the phone on the com4 etc - it just wont 'connect' with it |

OK turned off the phone, pulled out the battery for an hour. put the battery (accu) back in and plugged it in. No luck.
It still gets the error - like unable to initialize OBEX and/or unknown command
are there some special drivers or something i need? |

Hi doofus,
how do you connect your phone (USB / BT) and under which OS?
Seems to be the wrong COM-port. With some (wrong) ports you are
able to get out the data off your phone, but not to put data into it.
The right (english) FAQ's are here, but
i'm sure you've read it already.
Please connet your phone with MPE, start MPE and then post the first
20-30 lines of your debug.txt (found in C:\Program Files\MyPhoneExplorer).

oh and i did read the faq, but i can connect fine (e.g. I can extract the messages) , just not the phone book (the thing i need!) |

Ok, can see that the connection is via USB cable
(still missing the answer of your Windows version) 
Please try to use COM5.
If nothing changes, try to activate "stable connection" under File > Settings
and try again.

yes USB cable (my screen is broken, hence i need to backup my contacts:))
Windows XP SP2
COM 5 with/without stable mode - same thing; protocol could not be initialized - bad request C0
debug log looks basically the same....
any ideas? thanks!! |

Hmmmh, strange!
Com4 or Com5 should work, but seems to be another communication problem.

Backup doesn't work at all?
So at this state, i could not help anymore and have no more ideas.
Because FJ (the developer) is in holiday, it may take some time
for more answers.

The phone doesn't allow to access it as OBEX-Client, but the request from MyPhoneExplorer seems OK. Are you sure that you get the same error with the W810 ? Did you tried it on another PC ? Where do you come from ? |

same thing on antoher pc and on the w810i
BUT i got it to work once... not sure how, but afte r a fresh install o fthe drivers?
