I've been using MPE for a couple of years now and the only time I seems to have problems is when they give me a new computer at work and I have to reinstall. Well they gave em a new computer again.

MPE still works on my old computer but I can't seem to get it to work on my new computer, so I don't think it should have anything to do with the phone or the phone setting. I think it has to do with the setup/config of the new computer.

I've Installed MPE 1.8.6 on the computer.
I've installed Samsung Kies 3 (for the USB drivers).
I've installed the "ADB Driver Installer" and the "Samsung offical android driver(contains MTP and ADB Driver)" from http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
I've restarted my computer and phone.
I've configured my Sync options.

But I'm still unable to run the Multi-sync.

When I run the Multi-sync I get the following message.
Zitat:
Connection to phone could not be Established.
Access Denied! Please confirm teh security message on your phone!

Thre is no message displayed on myn phone. In the error message there is a "help" button. When I click the help butoon it gives a couple of items to check when you want to connect via USB-cable.
    - When you plug in the phone choose 'Charge only'
    - Ensure that 'USB debugging' is enabled on phone (Settings-Applications-Development or Settings-Developer options)
    - In Android 4.2.2 and newer you have to unlock the USB-Debugging option first (Settings-About the phone-Build number -> tap 7 times on it)
    - Ensure that the Debug-Interface-Drivers for your phone are installed (ADB-Drivers)

I've think I've done all of these except for "Charge Only" (I could find where to set that but I don't remember doing this step on my other computer).

MPE is installed on Windows 7 64 bit.
I've tried running MPE as Administrator and not.
I've tried to run in Windows XP compatibility mode and not.

The phone is a Galaxy S3.
Android version is 4.4.2.

I'm not sure what I'm missing.

If I look at the log file it appear to indicate that there is a problem with the device being known.

Any help would be appreciate in pointiong out what I'm missing.

Below is a copy of the debug.txt file

Hi. I had the same problem. You need to change "USB Computer Connection" I have galaxy s3. When you plugged in usb you will see usb sign top of the phone at the left side. Open top menu and select usb connection. There were two option. 1.Media Device 2. Camera. You should select 2.Camera option.

I thought it would be strange to need to change a setting on the phone since MPE was working on my old computer but not on my new computer but I thought I'd give it a try.

I change the setting on the phone from Media Device to Camera and restarted both the computer and phone. This did not solve the problem.

So I reverted back to my original setting "Media Device". When I did this it can up with a prompt on the phone to allow my new computer to "access debugging" (sorry I forgot to get the proper prompt or screenshot).

Once I said allow my new computer access MPE started to work fine and I was able to sync my phone with my Outlook.

Unfortunately this seems to have been a short lived fix and I'm now back to having the same problem again for the last 2 days.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

I got fed up with a USB connection when I had Nokia phones. Forever chasing up why things didn't connect. When I went to Android and MPE and it could sync using wifi I never looked back. Can you use wifi instead with your PC?

I don't think WIFI will work in my case since I'm trying to sync back to my Outlook on my local computer (connected to a corporate Excange server).

I thought I would also mention that it still is able to snyc when run on my old computer but I have to gice that back soon. The problem seems to be just with my new computer and not the phone.

But thanks for the response.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. This issues seems to have resolved itself.

The phone and computer were restarted several times since the beginning of this thread but didn't seem to fix the problem.

After coming back from vacation there did not seem to be an issue with the USB connection.

I'm still having problems with MPE though and have a different thread going for it. http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.php?p=108290#108290

As usual, thanks FJ (and everyone else) for your help.

In case someone is still struggling with this, here is some additional information.

Using Samsung Galaxy S5, ran into the same problem with Access Denied! message trying to connect VIA USB.

Decided to try the switch between Media/Camera mentioned earlier in this thread and yes, when switched back to Media, the phone showed a message about some RSA Fingerprint code and an option to Always allow the computer.

Select Yes and then the USB connection is made with no issue from MPE.

I don't know if the problem will return as the OP mentioned, but for now I am connected via USB.
