Contact Updates in MyPhoneExplorer not showing up in Galaxy S5
I am able to connect to phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) using USB connection. I am also able to make changes to contacts in MyPhoneExplorer with no errors. Sync appears to look as though it is working (adding/updating/deleting) when depressed without errors. When I disconnect the Samsung Galaxy S5 and view contacts directly on the phone I do not see the changes (e.g additions/updates/deletions).
Running: Android Ver 5.0 Lollypop
Provider: AT&T
Have Restarted the phone still no change.
If I reconnect the phone and launch MyPhoneExplorer the correct changes show in MyPhoneExplorer but not the phone. I can make a change and again things seem to function properly but later once again I do not see changes in the phone (Contact) application.
It's as if it really is not actually syncing although it appears to indicate that it is via MyPhoneExplorer.
If I make a change in the phone instead of MyPhoneExplorer while connected via USB and re-sync I do see the change or in this example an addition show up in MyPhoneExplorer.
** Update: I did an experiment, I do see updates in the phone if I added a phone number to an existing record (contact name). It appears what may not be happening is that records I delete in MyPhoneExplorer only appear deleted in the MyPhoneExplorer but not in the phone. I expected them to delete in the phone as well when I pressed sync.
This all started when I had AT&T copy my Contacts from my old phone to the new Samsung Galaxy S5. I ended up with duplicates and in some cases triplicates. I thought I would use MyPhoneExplorer to clean the mess up they made, rather then trying to do the cleanups and mergers on the phone.
Do I have to clear something in the phones Contacts or Settings
Any Ideas?
Many Thanks in Advance ! |

MPE settings on the phone - check 'Contact-accounts to sync'. And in your contacts app - check which account(s) is/are being displayed. |

Thanks for the reply DVHTTN. I checked the MPE settings on the phone and 'Contact-accounts to sync' was set to having three accounts to sync (e.g phone, google, skype).
In my Contacts App which I'm assuming is Android and not something by AT&T, Contact-Settings-Contacts-To-Display is set to All Contacts (all three above mentioned accounts).
Any other Ideas, anyone ?
Also another maybe related question... In MyPhoneExplorer on my Desktop the Blue-Download Entire Arrow Button next to Sync. Is that to download the contents of the desktops database back to the phone? and would it possibly clear what I have in the phone and replace it with the Desktops copy of my contacts or simply make even more entries and a bigger mess?
Thanks ! |
