SYNC 2 calendars creates duplicates

Hi. I am using Android and have selected to sync "My Calendar". I have a Microsoft exchange calendar and a personal calendar on my PC. If I select to sync just the personal calendar, MPE tries to create 1487 items in outlook, all of which are already there. If I set to sync both, MPE tries to create 1385 items in the _phone_ . Again, they are all already there. Help, Please. If I change the default file in outlook (2013, windows 8.) from exchange to personal the behaviour is reversed in that it tries to create 1385 items in outlook (copies of the items already in the phone). Even if I don't sync with exchange at all, I still get the duplicates.

Have you tried to reload the entries from the phone before the sync (blue arrow)?

But why? Surely MPE downloads the entire phone calendar as the first step of a sync, does it not?

No, the sync works a little bit differently in some cases. That´s the reason the blue arrow is still avaiable.
