This software has been the best solution I could find to help Android-based phones sync with Outlook... We are still on Outlook 2007, and have a Samsung Galaxy S3. I have 2 questions:
We have had serious problems with duplication of contacts recently... One of the 'issues' seems to be that MPE 1.8.6 fails to properly transfer the 'flag' ("This is the mailing address") to identify which address is the mailing address. I've seen Outlook start by displaying the mailing address in the 'Address Card' view, but it disappears after sync with phone. The address is still there, but no longer shows on the Address Card view... I'm also seeing that 'United States of America' is being added to some addresses - such that I end up with two (or more) contacts each with differing 'mailing address' and/or country...
Another strange issue, has been that MPE fails to 'see' certain new Calendar events in the phone. The only way to force them to cross over to Outlook is to manually change something (i.e. description), and presto, the event syncs as one might expect. We turned OFF any contacts/calendar sync with Google long time ago, so don't think that is a factor.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks |

Mailing address: In the contact database of the phone there exists no field for this flag so its not possible to sync it
Missing calendar events: Did you try to disable the checkbox "Compare only changed appointments" in the advanced sync settings for Outlook ? |

Mailing Address: The problem is that the sync process seems to 'delete' the flag in Outlook, essentially causing the 'Address Card' view to 'lose' the address that was showing prior to the sync. The address can be 'found' by opening the contact, and switching over to the address entry that actually has data.
Duplicates: This is our biggest problem. Especially with calendar events. For whatever reason, ONE event shows in the Phone calendar 4+ times, while Outlook only gets one entry. Some events seem to be deleted, rather than syncing to the calendar where it does not yet exist. Thanks for any ideas as to what we can do...
PS - Any chance that Outlook 2007 could be part of the problem? I might be able to upgrade to Outlook 2010. What about completely uninstalling MPE from the computer - and reinstalling to a different folder? |

I use Outlook (2010) and set the same flag, but it has never got deleted from Outlook.

I'm assuming that the MPE settings on the phone (particularly 'calendar to add events to' etc) and the calendar's ('Calendar(s) to display' or whatever the option is with your calendar) are set correctly?
What I would do in this case is ensure your Outlook events/contacts are correct (and then make a backup - export the pst file for calendar and contacts), delete ALL events and contacts from the phone (Manage apps -> Calendar/contact storage -> delete data) and re-sync after ensuring the date/time/timezone are all correct and see if the same thing happens.
As for the one event happening 4 times, is there anything strange about it? |

OK, perhaps I failed to mention initially, that MPE 1.8.6 seems to work just fine for weeks, perhaps months - *BUT* then, the sync process seems to be unable to 'see' the existing contacts, calendar appointments, notes - and then proceeds to create a new entry for *everything* from Outlook - creating duplicates for most everything in the phone. IF/when MPE fails to 'see' those '2nd' items, it then proceeds to create a 3rd entry, and so forth...
At first I thought it was my (older) version of Outlook (2007), so I upgraded to Outlook 2010, reinstalled MPE, deleted everything from phone and did a fresh Outlook to Phone sync. That then works for another 3-4 weeks, and BOOM the next sync want to insert ALL items to the phone again.
I'm hoping FJ (the developer) has an idea as to what is going on since this is starting to get really old. IF it helps, we are using MPE on a Samsung Galaxy SIII. Bryan |
