I do connect K750i to my PC using DCU-60 USB cable WITHOUT any SE drivers/software, and my PC detects "removable drive" in it. Same goes with K510i. So additional software. Works "on-the-fly", great!
However, it doesn't work on other PCs, other WinXPs doesn't recognize my K750i as a "removable drive" without SE software/drivers, which is a problem to me, since I would like to use K750i as a USB flash drive (have 1GB on it). Please note USB connection works with K510i on every PC.
What could be the reason for this and how to overcome it? SE support was not helpful.
Thanks,
Ivan
How to access K750i as a "removable drive" on a PC

It makes sense, but... (please read)
>I think the drivers were already installed on the PC which is working.
It makes sense, but the working PC was my home desktop PC -- I do know what was installed on it. I never ever had a SE suite/driver, nothing, for any model. I just plugged K750i in, and it did found some 5 devices on K750i and K750i as a "removable drive".
The only difference was: I'm running WinXP SP1, all other computer were WinXP SP2.
I guess I can not use K750i as a 1G flash memory stick, since:
- it's not widely automatically recognized (needs a driver or a Net access), and that takes time, and lot of other users do not want to have any new drivers installed;
- transfer rate is slow over the USB cable, it takes some 30 minutes for a 700 MB when uploading to a phone (a movie) = much more than flash USB 2.0.
- Bluetooth speed should be pretty the same, I have the old Bluetooth, there are 3x faster models now, but SE support told me cable speed meets the USB speed.
(too slow)
This is totally off MPE topic, sorry guys, but I'll have to change the phone, and find some another SE (just not 3G large phones). BTW, new SE memory sticks, on models like K550i or K810, are much more expensive (my brother has one).
