Hi,
Until recently, I did not have any problem synchronizing my files located on my external sd card, even with MPE 1.8.6, and with android 4.4.2.
Now, it has become impossible to do it any more because of security restrictions with Android ????
I uninstalled MPE and reinstalled it, but result is the same.
Any clue to resolve this issue ?

Probably your phone did run with a earlier version of Android before. With Android 4.4 no third party app has full write access to the external sd card, its a known limitation of Android KitKat. But if you connect your phone via USB then MPE can use the MTP-Protocol for filetransfer to eliminate this limitation |

I know this limitation so we can now think about the usage of a SD card ????
You say we can use MTP-Protocol for filetransfer: how do I choose this way ?

I always connect my phone thru USB but I don't see any options for choosing MTP-Protocol for filetransfer ????

You checked if the Debug-Mode is still activated?
You did update the drivers? |

Yes the Debug-Mode is always activated.
As for the drivers, how do I know I need an update ?

Easiest thing to do? Download the ADB drivers from here: http://adbdriver.com/downloads/ and just install them. |

OK I did downloaded the adb drivers, but it said it was already installed.
So what can I do now because I have no way for the moment but synchronizing manually my files ?

OK, we need more information.
What phone are you using?
Post the logfile after trying to sync. |

My phone is a Galaxy Note 3 android version 4.4.2
I cannot include the logfile in this post because I get the following error message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 26214400 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/.sites/59/site885/web/forum/includes/functions_search.php on line 127
Is there another way to send you this logfile ?

If you are using MPE 1.8.6 then MTP will be automatically used if the phone is connected via USB and the regular upload fails. The important thing is that your phone appears in the windows device manager not only as "Samsung ADB Interface" (which is used for regular connection of MPE) - your phone should appear also as "Portable Device", this is the MTP-Driver. Please send the logfile to me via email with a link to this thread if its too big for posting. |
