MPE client, USB connects on one PC, not another, same phone.

I'm trying to setup a friend's Toshiba notebook PC [Win 7 or 8] for MPE on his Moto Droid X2.

The MPE Client connects perfectly to the X2 using my own HP (Win 8 pro) notebook PC (as used on my own phone), but will not connect using the Toshiba notebook.

I feel that the Toshiba is trying to manage the connected USB device, even though the MPE client is open before plugging in the Droid X2 phone.

Could someone suggest a few items to check on the Toshiba to resolve the USB communication issue in MPE?

Probably you missed to install the ADB-Drivers for your phone on the Toshiba notebook. Also check the phone screen when you connect the first time, you have to confirm a security prompt on the first connect.
