Hi,
I incidentally found that you GREAT tool works with SE P1i (Symbian) using Bluetooth connection (in my case Bluetooth drivers are provided by Widcomm).
Before connecting for the first time, you need to start "wireless network wizard" in "PC Suite for Sony Ericsson" (left icon in first row). It creates modem device in the system and it is enough for your tool to connect to my phone through Bluetooth (using search function to discover COM port used for modem connection).
Regards
Artur |

Hi Arthur
Thanks for the information. I knew that it works if the Bluetooth-Software is able to create a virtual modem (DialUp Connection). The bad thing is that i cannot officially say that the P1i is supported via Bluetooth cause
- not every Bluetooth-Stack supports DialUp networking
- on some Bluetooth-Stacks its really tricky to set this connection -> too tricky for the most users.
- mRouter has to be configured to use the virtual serial port. In fact there are two serial active connections on the same time, otherwise many features of MPE will not work
But it works for you so enjoy it |

I never said that the P1i is not supported, but for the Bluetooth-Connection its tricky to set up. I'll explain: SonyEricsson had some Symbian based models, these Models have a regular Modem Port for Bluetooth but the data transfer for sync is encrypted so MPE does use SonyEricssons own library for this: mRouter. The bad thing is that mRouter needs also a COM-Port for communication so MPE cannot use the same port as mRouter. If you connect your phone via USB then you'll have several COM-Ports so this will be easier.
To fix your error message you have to install the "SonyEricsson PC Suite for Smartphones", this is NOT the PC Companion. Since SonyEricsson support is dead you have to grab this package from other sources or you use the CD which was shipped with your P1i |

I think it worked with MPE 1.8.5. Will do some more experiments. Thanks. |

1.8.5 works fine on some other computer with P1i, Win XP and Sony PC Companion 2.1 .
Will do some more testing.
