MPE client very high resources consumption + slow via USB

Beitrag von Anakunda »

If I connect MPE to phone in USB mode, the phone becomes very unstable, very high resources consumption, very slow file synchronization (~100kB/s), often restarts during multi-sync. I'm sure all of these relate to some problem.
Appreciate any working solution.
OS Android 4.4.2, latest MPE client, USB debugging is allowed

Please check if there are any background process of other Sync suites like "HTC Sync" or "Samsung KIES". If yes -> kill them.

Also update to the current beta because it does contain the latest runtime files for USB-Connection: http://www.fjsoft.at/files/MyPhoneExplo ... Update.exe

If this does not fix your problem then try another USB-Cable.

Trying this beta....but not too much better
File transfers are very slow, apps in background crash due to unknown reason. Sometimes the transfer during sync falls back to normal (~1MB/s) phone becomes normally responsive and sync is finished without issues, but rather rarely. Mostly the phone dies while MPE client transfers files. Other sync seem operate normally (SMS, contacts, call log etc.).
If this doesn't rely to KiKat's restriction for blocking SD access to 3rd party apps.....

E: I don't use any other sync software. (eg. DropSync,it's frozen)
This is original USB cable from Sony, have never befor problem on old Android with the same cable. The problem described started out just after upgrading my OS. So it must be a software problem.

There is alot of Software between MyPhoneExplorer and the phone (USB driver, ADB, ADB Daemon on the phone,...) so also alot of potential causes. Did you ever try the behaviour via WiFi ?

Sync over Wifi is smooth, no performance issues. This is only in USB mode.

Which OS you are using ? Windows 8 ?
I know you say its the software, but just to be sure: Please try the other available USB-Ports of your PC.

64bit Windows 8.1 here.
The USB port is not the issue, I'm sure. Used the same port with Android 4.0.4 stock firmware, no performance and stability problems. The data throughput was just at peak level. Data transfers in MTP or direct using ADB are smooth as well. Just the phone content losts soon from visibility in MTP mode but this was on old Android too.
Cyanogenmod 11 based on Android 4.4.4 sync over USB is terrible. USB is in MTP mode, Android debugging is ON, ADB over network is off. MPE client is in version 1.0.30. Nothing special.

Well, unless you've actually tried another port and cable you cannot be sure. Just had a USB mouse fail (the cable) and was convinced it was the laptop (locked down by the companies IT dept). But no. Good old mechanical failure. Intermittant as well just for a good laugh .....

So I tried another cable and another port, still same issue.
Pure file transfers via ADB do very smooth and fast (2-3MB/s) while sync using MPE client do approx at 100kB/s most of time

Are you able to test the behaviour on another PC ?
Are you using inbetween MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.6 ?

The new version can handle the most file transfer operations too via MTP, to force the MTP mode you have to make a hidden setting:
- Start->Run->%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\general.ini->OK
- add a new line below [Main]: ForceMTP=1
- save the file

yes but now on repair.

After longer time I tried multi sync my phone with MPE@USB and it was able to finsh in one run (150MB data synced). This has never before succeeded but still the transfer speed is pathetic (approx. 100kB/s) while with direct adb transfer I reach speeds around 3MB/s. Probably new CM builds can better handle the problem but still indicating that MPE client is in conflict with something when accessing SD card or using adb interface.
