You can however go via an adress book application such as the one with Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.
It's a bit tricky but take a smaller portion of you massive vcard collection and try it out ...

You could find out the MAC adress of your phones AP by running Wifi Monitor

And on your PC (?) you can run arp -a in a command window to find stuff out...

I find that my solution with Tasker invoking MPE client when SMS recieved AND on MAC-adress of my router is far too ...

I recieved a SMS with the phone lying in another room.

After some Googling I found Tasker .

- SMS arrives.
Tasker checks if I'm connected to my home routers MAC-adress.
If so, launches MPE Client.

Now if I recieve a SMS, I just ...

I believe (haven't tried yet) that Tasker might be able to start MPE client if given the correct circumstance, e.g. connecting to your home wifi.

Then enable the options in MPE on PC under
Settings -> MultiSync -> (Start MultiSync) -> if connection was initiated automatically

No.

MPE syncs contacts, sms and calender items, along with maybe photos and stuff.
No system settings or apps.

There are apps for your phone that does system backups, but for now you are screwed.
