Restore contact list fm HTC Desire to a new Samsung Galaxy S

Android to android. Have tried and failed to syncronize my contacts with my Google account. Remains to restore the contacts from my recent backup made by MPE. What should I be careful with? Are there any step-by-step instructions anywhere on the net? My HTC is four yrs old.

On Jan 15 2011 Stefan Galler wrote an instruction on "Howto and FAQ: Use Android Phones with MyPhoneExplorer".

After trying the two suggestions for downloading "General ADB Drivers" I have to report that my McAfee did react on "http://adbdriver.com/downloads/" McAfee SiteAdvisor said ...

The phone directory on the S I M card is not possible to back up. This option is greyed out. Android and Win7.

This option is greyed out in the backup feature. I have a USB cable to my computer. Any suggestions?
