The file transfer problem was slightly worse before - on latest version I can occasionally succeed with 1GB files, but it takes a few tries.

The control phone issue does seem to have got worse with later versions, but for me it was never reliable.

I have a lot of problems trying to transfer large files from PC to phone. It doesn't matter whether I use USB, WiFi, or Bluetooth, none is reliable for files of a few hundred MB to a GB or more. Control phone is a nice idea but for me it too often fails with "FrameBufferData missing (0 Bytes received)".

The key was a single file, but the file is actually called general.ini . I found mine in:
%APPDATA%\MyPhoneExplorer\
Which equated to:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer\
I closed the (broken) gadget, closed MPE, removed (actually, just renamed) general.ini , then restarted ...

Killed sidebar.exe. Copied myphoneexplorer.gadget folder from %ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets (this was the copy the MPE install created with today's dates).

Restarted sidebar.exe, now MPE gadget is in the pallete again, and ...

Thank you, interesting suggestion, but no "*sidebar*" folder and in fact no "settings.ini" anywhere in my specific user area or even in users generally, and yes, I do have hidden and system files enabled, so still stuck for now...

At first, after update to 1.8.3 there was still an MPE gadget on my desktop. However it was non-functional - it no longer connected to the phone or MPE application at all.

I re-installed fresh download of MPE - no difference.

It would be useful if we could export the Applications list, all columns, to CSV or Excel. Also, does the API retrieve infor re install to SD versus phone memory?

It would be really great if MPE could copy data froma contcat in one account and paste it to another account.

Would be useful for migrating handsets to use just the Google account, or for fixing accidents when contacts have been created in the wrong (e.g. Phone) account.

I fixed my Calendar, finally. My solution involved a lot of faffing around based on Google calendar's export, delete calendar, and import facilities. I eventually managed to get sync'ed calendars without duplicates.

Well, having manually tidied 2011 (to remove all those cross-calendar duplicates) I decided it was time to sort out all the duplicated entries in 2012-2013 too.

I dared to do the deletes in MPE calendar, plus some edits, and then synchronise. Phew... it worked. Phone warned about too many deletes ...

Sorry, I can't say remember which version of the Android client I was using when it happened. Until now I always used the latest client from the Market.

MyPhoneExplorer does not creates duplicates, the problem with duplicates appears mostly when other sync-providers hang in (f.e. sync with Google). If you use MyPhoneExplorer on diffrent PCs with the same phone then its recommened to press the Button "Download entire" from time to time
